When you arrive at Espanol Universal we will assess your Spanish
language skills with a written test and talk with you about any
special needs or interests. Classes are held in five clean and comfortable
classrooms and are conducted completely in Spanish. You can start
your classes on any business day of the week. However courses are
conducted on a weekly basis, and consist of at least one hour a
day. Our Spanish classes are offered in small groups (no more than
3 students) or private instruction. Select from the wide range of
classes below to create a study plan that's just right for you.
Business
and Finance - Learn Spanish needed to organize and conduct
a business meeting, make an agenda and minutes, discuss meeting
items, express agreement or disagreement, and encourage participation
among attendees. Learn to read and write business letters, employment
applications, memorandums, reports, loan applications, financial
transactions, and other documents. Practice terminology used
for accounting, taxes, publicity, and banks.
Medicine
and Nursing - Learn Spanish needed to create a clinical
record, question the patient, write a prescription, and give
recommendations to the patient about precautions or specific
actions they should take. Learn general aspects and terminology
about the following: the emergency room, cancer, birth, genecology,
venereal diseases, AIDS, hypertension, and symptoms of heart
attacks.
Law
- Learn Spanish needed to conduct a statement in the Ministerio
Publico regarding a robbery, traffic accident, family disturbance,
or violence. Learn situational terminology about legal processes,
fines, civil and penal cases, and litigation.
Social
Work - Learn Spanish needed to provide help in a social
assistance office in the following areas: conducting an interview,
filling out forms, and following up cases. Learn terminology
related to information about different social assistance programs
related to food, employment, training, free medical service,
child abuse, senior citizens, and others.
Teaching
- Learn Spanish needed to conduct an elementary school
class, recesses, and fieldtrips to museums and gardens. Learn
situational terminology used in the elementary school environment
to teach subjects such as writing, history, basic Spanish, geography,
and mathematics.
Spanish Instruction Course
This is a training course for instructors who wish to teach Spanish as a second language. The course will cover theoretical and practical aspects of the Spanish language and the methodology and different techniques used to teach it. This course is recognized by the Secretaria de Educacion (SEG) and students will receive a certification upon completion.
